The cost of filling events is cheaper than filling live events. We can get a registrant for an online event for between $2 and $6 per registrant. With live events we’re happy if we can get it down to $20 per registrant, and sometimes it’s much more! That means your marketing budget to run an online event can be tiny.
The turn up rate to an online event is much higher – over 65%, compared to 30-50% turn up for a live event. And it makes sense, because people can log in and watch from the comfort of their own home, no travel, no parking, no accommodation needed…some participants tell us they enjoy attending our online events in their PJs!
The cost to run the event is practically non-existent. No need to pay for the venue, catering, travel and accommodation for the speakers, back-of-room staff, printing, audio-visual, etc, etc, etc. Instead of spending upwards of $15,000 to run a live event, we’re spending less than $200 on the online platform, and that’s pretty much it (you can see why we love this model!)
The lead time to fill an online event is just a couple of weeks, versus at least 2 months to fill a live event. That means you can roll out new events faster, and run events more often, again increasing your income.
While the conversion rate is a little lower, and we are offering products at a lower price than we would at a live event, the higher turn up rate, the lower cost of delivery, and the increased frequency means the income is about the same for an online versus an offline event – for a fraction of the time and outlay.
